This liquid-staked version of ARB enables users to maintain asset liquidity for use across the broader DeFi landscape, while still accruing the benefits of staking rewards, providing flexibility without sacrificing yield.
Arbitrum implements a monthly vesting schedule for its team and early investors, which is set to continue until 2027. A critical upcoming event for the community is a significant token unlock scheduled for mid-January 2026, which will release approximately 92.65 million ARB tokens into circulation. As of early 2026, about 5.7 billion ARB tokens, representing roughly 57% of the total 10 billion supply, are actively circulating.
BoLD, or Bounded Optimistic Liveness Dispute, is a protocol fully implemented by early 2025 that significantly enhances Arbitrum's decentralization. Historically, only an allow-listed group of validators could challenge fraudulent transactions. With BoLD, this system shifts to permissionless validation, meaning anyone can now participate in challenging the network's state transitions. This multi-language support is powered by a WebAssembly (WASM) virtual machine that operates alongside the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Stylus makes complex computations, such as those for AI or heavy cryptography, substantially cheaper and faster to execute compared to Solidity-only contracts, opening up new possibilities for advanced applications on Arbitrum.
