There are three distinct entities often confused within the ecosystem. SWM is the original utility token from the Swarm Network's earlier phase, which is currently being phased out in favor of the new ecosystem. TRUTH is the new native token for the Swarm Network (Truth Protocol) launched in 2025, used to reward AI agent operators and secure the verification layer. BZZ, or Swarm Storage, is an entirely separate project created by the Ethereum Foundation for decentralized file storage and has no direct affiliation with the Swarm Network or the TRUTH token.

With the launch of the TRUTH token in late 2025, the project introduced the OMEGA Airdrop to reward early SWM holders and Agent License owners. For users holding tokens on centralized platforms, distributions of the new TRUTH token are managed by supporting exchanges like LBank. If you hold SWM in a private wallet, you should refer to the official Swarm Network Gitbook for specific claim instructions, as the project has shifted its primary focus to the Sui and Ethereum-based Truth Protocol.

In 2025, Swarm shifted to a node-lite model utilizing Agent Licenses issued as NFTs on the Sui Network. Holding an Agent License allows a user to operate an AI agent that performs truth verification, which involves fact-checking data on-chain. License holders earn daily rewards in TRUTH tokens for contributing to the network's security and data integrity. These licenses were released in limited supplies to decentralize the verification process, with rewards depending on active network participation.

The project is highly active but has undergone a significant strategic pivot. Originally focused on tokenizing Real-World Assets (RWA) via the SRC20 standard, Swarm Network has rebranded its mission toward Decentralized AI Verification. The project now operates the Truth Protocol, serving as a Truth Layer for the internet. It utilizes AI to verify claims on social media platforms and provides this verified data to other decentralized applications, moving away from its original asset-tokenization model.

Following the 2025 Token Generation Event, the new TRUTH token has become the primary asset for the ecosystem. It is available for trading on major global exchanges, including LBank. While the original SWM token may still be found on some decentralized exchanges, its liquidity has largely transitioned to the new TRUTH token. Users are encouraged to utilize the new TRUTH token for ecosystem participation, as it is the functional asset for the Truth Protocol.

The Swarm Network officially shut down its Bonding Curve mechanism in May 2024 following a community vote. The team implemented this change to move away from the Bzzaar model and toward a traditional exchange-based liquidity structure. This transition was a necessary step to prepare for the Swarm 2.0 launch and the implementation of the Truth Protocol, ensuring the project aligns with modern market standards for token liquidity and accessibility.
