xALGO is a liquid staking token developed by Folks Finance on the Algorand blockchain. It represents ALGO tokens that have been staked, allowing holders to earn Algorand Consensus Rewards. The token's value is designed to increase over time against ALGO as these rewards are compounded.

Users can stake their ALGO tokens via the Folks Finance platform. In return, they receive xALGO. This xALGO token then automatically accrues Algorand Consensus Rewards, meaning its value relative to ALGO continuously grows. The design allows for flexibility, as users can redeem their xALGO back into the underlying ALGO tokens whenever they choose, providing a straightforward mechanism for both staking and unstaking.

The primary advantages of holding xALGO include earning continuous yield from Algorand Consensus Rewards without needing active management of the staked assets.
