WATCHDOGS is the premier native NFT marketplace and utility ecosystem built on the Ink blockchain, which is a Layer 2 network developed by Kraken. It operates as a decentralized application (dApp) specifically designed to provide creators and collectors with a robust platform for NFT trading. By leveraging the Ink infrastructure, WATCHDOGS offers efficient transactions alongside specialized tools such as AI-driven statistics and community-focused staking rewards.

The $WATCH token serves as the central utility asset of the ecosystem with three primary roles: Governance, Staking, and Incentives. Holders can participate in governance by voting on key marketplace updates and protocol changes. Stakers can earn a share of platform fees, providing a direct link between marketplace success and token utility. Finally, the token is used to incentivize activity, rewarding users for their engagement and contributions to the marketplace.

veWATCH, or vote-escrowed WATCH, is a non-transferable token that users receive when they "lock" their $WATCH tokens for a set period. It is a core technical component that represents a user’s voting power within the decentralized governance system. Additionally, the amount of veWATCH held determines the weight and distribution of staking rewards, effectively rewarding long-term supporters with greater influence and a larger share of the platform's fee-based incentives.

Staking rewards are primarily distributed through a Stability Pool, with the yield typically fluctuating based on marketplace activity and volume. When marketplace trading is high, rewards tend to increase. However, these rewards do not compound automatically. Users are required to manually claim their rewards from the staking dashboard. If a user wishes to compound their position, they must manually redeposit the claimed tokens back into the staking protocol.

The $WATCH token is available on decentralized exchanges (DEXs) within the Ink ecosystem and on major centralized exchanges such as LBank. To ensure safety, the community is strongly advised to verify the official contract address using the Ink block explorer.
