TAO Private Network (TPN), operating as Subnet 65 on the Bittensor network, is a decentralized VPN (dVPN) infrastructure project. SN65 is the Alpha token for Subnet 65 within the Bittensor dTAO framework, representing the governance power and utility of the subnet. Users can earn SN65 rewards by staking TAO into the Subnet 65 Alpha pool. For those seeking deeper involvement, veSN65 (vote-escrowed SN65) allows users to lock their tokens to gain governance power. The network operates through three main roles: Workers, Miners, and Validators. Workers are easy-to-run nodes that provide the actual internet bandwidth for the VPN. Miners manage these workers and interface directly with the Bittensor blockchain to receive subnet emissions, which they then use to compensate their workers. Validators play a crucial role by verifying that miners and workers are providing genuine, high-quality, and low-latency connections to maintain the network's integrity and performance standards.

To participate as a miner or worker, participants generally require a Linux-based machine (Debian/Ubuntu) with at least 2 CPU cores and 2GiB of RAM. However, the network environment is highly competitive. Scoring is based on uptime, unique geographic location, and response speed. To receive full rewards, nodes must maintain a latency under 10 seconds. Performance is strictly monitored by validators, and nodes that are slower than the top performers may see their reward allocations decrease significantly.
