Stride Staked Juno, commonly known as stJUNO, is a liquid staking derivative token representing the native JUNO token from the Juno Network. It is issued through Stride, a specialized multichain liquid staking protocol built as an application-specific blockchain within the Cosmos ecosystem. The primary purpose of stJUNO is to solve the liquidity challenge associated with traditional staking. In standard staking, tokens are locked to secure the network and earn rewards, making them inaccessible for other uses. When users stake their JUNO through the Stride protocol, they receive stJUNO in return at a one-to-one ratio. This derivative token represents their ownership of the underlying staked assets and the rewards they accumulate over time. Unlike locked tokens, stJUNO remains liquid, meaning it can be transferred, traded, or used in various decentralized finance applications across the Cosmos network. The underlying Juno Network is a permissionless blockchain designed for the deployment of smart contracts using the CosmWasm framework. It is recognized for hosting a large number of decentralized autonomous organizations.
