Soil is a blockchain-based lending protocol designed to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the crypto world. Its core mission is to reshape corporate debt and fixed-income investments by enabling established companies to secure financing and allowing crypto investors to lend their stablecoins to earn yield. Soil aims to offer attractive yields for crypto participants and open new liquidity sources for traditional financial markets.

Soil functions as a decentralized marketplace, connecting borrowers, particularly Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), with lenders, who are crypto investors. It provides loans to SMEs through private debt fund managers, with stablecoin yields backed by cash flows from Real-World Assets (RWAs) that exist off-chain. This approach addresses challenges faced by SMEs in accessing traditional financing due to regulatory constraints and a lack of credit history.

The $SOIL token serves multiple purposes. It captures the protocol's profits, and through its deflationary tokenomics, aims to increase in value as the protocol scales. Users can supply $SOIL tokens to the protocol to earn rewards. Locking $SOIL tokens in the protocol can also boost the yield (APY) on stablecoins lent in the lending pools. Future plans include $SOIL token holders participating in governance to influence decisions.

Users can earn in several ways: by depositing stablecoins (e.g., USDC) into various lending pools to earn fixed interest and additional rewards in native $SOIL tokens. They can also stake $SOIL tokens to earn on-chain rewards and accumulate points, which activate multipliers to boost their share of rewards. Additionally, users can contribute $SOIL tokens to enhance the overall liquidity stability of the protocol and earn rewards for their contribution.

Real-World Assets are tangible assets or financial instruments from the traditional economy that back the loans facilitated by Soil. These assets provide stability and a tangible value proposition for the stablecoin yields generated on the platform. Examples of companies financed include medical centers, furniture producers, manufacturing plants, and real estate developers, whose operations generate the cash flows that underpin these RWAs.
