REG is the native governance token for the RealToken DAO, serving as the foundation of a decentralized ecosystem focused on real estate tokenization. It grants holders the ability to influence the platform's direction, including decisions on protocol upgrades, fee structures, and the selection of new real estate assets. While property-specific tokens represent fractional ownership of buildings, REG governs the overarching infrastructure and rules of the entire ecosystem.

REG is the liquid version of the token that can be held in wallets or traded on platforms like LBank. veREG (vote-escrowed REG) is obtained by locking your REG tokens for a chosen duration. While REG is liquid, veREG represents your actual voting power within the DAO and often entitles the holder to higher staking rewards and protocol revenue sharing, incentivizing long-term participation in the ecosystem.

Staking rewards are variable and generated from protocol emissions and liquidation gains. Users can participate in a Stability Pool with no lock-up or choose to lock tokens for veREG to maximize rewards. It is important to note that rewards do not compound automatically; users must manually claim their rewards and re-stake them if they wish to increase their total position over time.

The total supply is capped at 501,333,738 REG. These tokens are released gradually over a five-year period through a series of scheduled epochs. Distribution is often targeted toward active community members and early adopters, including those holding specific RealToken NFTs or those with a history of property token ownership, ensuring a wide distribution among stakeholders.

REG primarily operates on the Gnosis Chain to benefit from lower transaction costs, but it is also available via bridges on Ethereum and Polygon. It can be stored in any standard Web3-compatible wallet or secure hardware wallet. Users should always ensure they are interacting with the official smart contract address when managing their assets across these different blockchain networks.

REG is available for acquisition on LBank and various decentralized exchanges across the Gnosis, Ethereum, and Polygon networks. Since direct fiat-to-REG purchases are uncommon, most users acquire a stablecoin or a major crypto asset first and then trade it for REG. This allows users to enter the RealT governance ecosystem and begin participating in staking or voting activities.
