The Re7 WBTC Morpho Vault (re7wbtc) is a curated lending product known as a MetaMorpho vault. Rather than requiring users to manually select individual lending markets, the vault pools Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) and automatically distributes it across several isolated Morpho Blue markets. Re7 Labs acts as the curator, managing these allocations into pairs where WBTC is lent against various collateral types, such as yield-bearing Bitcoin derivatives or other liquid restaking tokens.

The vault generates returns by providing liquidity to borrowers involved in leveraged-yield strategies. While the vault itself does not take on leverage, it services the demand from users who do. For example, a borrower might deposit a yield-bearing Bitcoin derivative and borrow WBTC from the vault to increase their position. This high demand to borrow WBTC pushes up the interest rate, which is then passed directly to the vault's depositors as yield.

Re7 Labs is the designated 'Curator' of the vault. They are third-party risk experts responsible for selecting which markets the vault supports and setting supply caps to manage exposure to specific assets. While Re7 Labs manages the strategy and capital allocation, they do not have custody of user funds. Their role is strictly limited to managing the allocation of capital within the protocol's ecosystem, providing professional oversight of the lending markets.

Depositors face three primary risks: Curator Risk, Bad Debt Risk, and Liquidity Risk. Curator Risk refers to the possibility of the manager allocating funds to a market with poor collateral or faulty oracles. Bad Debt Risk occurs if the value of the collateral backing a loan drops faster than it can be liquidated, potentially causing a loss. Liquidity Risk arises if the vault is fully utilized, meaning users may need to wait for borrowers to repay their loans before they can withdraw.

When you deposit assets, you receive re7wbtc tokens representing your share of the vault. You do not need to manually claim yield; instead, the value of the re7wbtc token is designed to increase relative to WBTC over time. The share price accounts for the interest earned by the vault, meaning that when you eventually withdraw, your re7wbtc tokens are redeemable for more WBTC than you initially deposited.

Compared to more conservative vault managers that focus strictly on blue-chip assets, Re7 Labs often targets growth assets and newer Bitcoin derivatives to capture higher incentives. Regarding withdrawals, assets can typically be withdrawn at any time due to a reactive interest rate model that incentivizes borrowers to repay when liquidity is low. However, in rare instances of high utilization, a delay may occur until liquidity is freed. The underlying protocol is also heavily audited to ensure code security.
