PULSE (XPL) FAQ
What is PulseChain and what is PulseX?
PulseChain is an energy-efficient, cheaper, and faster fork of the Ethereum network, designed to copy every token from Ethereum onto its own network. PulseX is the primary decentralized exchange (DEX) operating on PulseChain, facilitating token swaps similar to other major decentralized exchanges on different blockchains. It is built to offer significantly lower trading fees compared to many alternatives. A portion of these trading fees can be utilized to buy and burn the PLSX token, aiming to reduce its supply over time. Transactions on the PulseChain network are also designed to be much more affordable and quicker than those on the Ethereum network.
What are the primary uses of the XPL token in Pulse World?
The XPL token is central to the Pulse World ecosystem, serving as the primary currency for economic activity across its metaverse platform. It enables various essential functions, including the buying and selling of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), purchasing in-game items, and accessing premium features within the platform. Beyond transactional utility, XPL also supports staking, which allows holders to contribute to network security and stability while potentially earning rewards. Furthermore, the token facilitates governance participation, empowering holders to have a say in the development and future direction of the Pulse World project, ensuring a community-driven evolution.
What is Plasma (XPL) and what is its unique purpose?
Plasma (XPL) is a distinct Layer 1 blockchain specifically optimized for stablecoin transactions. Its core mission is to establish a fast, free, and globally accessible infrastructure for stablecoin circulation, effectively addressing inefficiencies such as high fees and slow speeds often found in other blockchain networks. Plasma achieves this through its unique PlasmaBFT consensus mechanism, which aims for sub-second block finality and high transaction throughput. A key differentiating feature is its "Paymaster" protocol, allowing users to pay gas fees in supported stablecoins or have the protocol cover them, eliminating the need for users to hold XPL for basic transactions.
What is the relationship between PulseChain and the Ethereum network?
PulseChain is a fork of the Ethereum network, meaning it created a complete copy of Ethereum's blockchain state at a specific moment. This process resulted in the duplication of all existing ERC20 tokens, creating corresponding PRC20 tokens on the new PulseChain network. Consequently, individuals who held ERC20 tokens on the Ethereum network prior to this snapshot received an equivalent amount of those tokens as PRC20s on PulseChain. This design allows PulseChain to leverage Ethereum's established ecosystem while introducing its own set of improvements, including lower transaction fees, faster processing times, and enhanced energy efficiency for network operations.
How are transaction fees managed on PulseChain and PulseX?
PulseChain is engineered for significantly lower transaction fees compared to the Ethereum network, making it more accessible for everyday use. On PulseX, the primary decentralized exchange, a trading fee of 0.29% is applied to token swaps. A key mechanism for value accrual for the PLSX token involves a portion of these fees. Specifically, a part of the fees generated from PulseX transactions is used to buy back PLSX from the open market. These purchased tokens are then permanently removed from circulation (burned), thereby reducing the total supply over time. This deflationary mechanism aims to enhance the value of PLSX.
How can users manage and store PulseChain ecosystem tokens?
Users can manage and store PLSX, PLS, and other PRC20 tokens within a compatible Web3 wallet. To enable interaction with the PulseChain network, users simply need to add the specific network details to their chosen wallet. This involves configuring the Network Name, RPC URL, Chain ID, and Symbol unique to the PulseChain mainnet. Once these parameters are correctly entered, the wallet will be able to connect to the PulseChain network, display balances of PRC20 tokens, and facilitate transactions on the ecosystem. This process is standard for interacting with various EVM-compatible blockchains.
