PoSciDonDAO is a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) built on the Base network, an Ethereum Layer 2. Its core mission is to decentralize the funding of biotechnology research, specifically focusing on personalized medicine. The project aims to accelerate scientific breakthroughs for challenging diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, and multiple sclerosis by moving away from traditional, centralized funding models.

The project specifically targets early-stage, pre-patented research in innovative biotechnology sectors. This includes viro-immunotherapies, gene and cell therapies, and AI-driven drug discovery. By focusing on these areas, PoSciDonDAO seeks to advance the development of treatments that can be tailored to the specific needs of individual patients.

SCI serves as the native governance and utility token for the ecosystem. It is used by holders to vote on research funding proposals and to elect the scientific experts who review those proposals. Additionally, SCI is required to obtain licenses for the DAO’s personalized medicine Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio. The ecosystem also incorporates a deflationary mechanism where revenue from commercialized IP is used for token buybacks and burns.

To obtain voting power, users must lock their SCI tokens within the PoSciDonDAO Protocol. The amount of voting power is proportional to the number of tokens locked. For high-impact decisions, the DAO utilizes quadratic voting to ensure fair influence among all participants. To use this feature, users must prove their uniqueness by minting a Soulbound Token (SBT), which prevents single entities from exerting excessive control.

PoSciDonDAO employs a dual-token model consisting of SCI and PO. SCI is the tradable governance token used for locking and participating in the protocol. PO is a non-tradable "Proof of Participation" token earned by users who actively engage in governance votes. This system is designed to incentivize community participation, and PO tokens can later be exchanged for SCI or other rewards within the ecosystem.

SCI tokens can be acquired through cryptocurrency exchanges such as LBank. Once users hold SCI, they can engage with the project by locking their tokens to gain voting rights. This allows them to influence which medical research projects receive funding. Active participation not only supports the Decentralized Science (DeSci) movement but also allows contributors to earn rewards through the DAO’s unique incentive structure.
