Observer (OBSR) is a DePIN project focused on crowdsourcing hyperlocal weather data through blockchain technology. Unlike traditional centralized weather agencies, it leverages big data to verify and store real-time environmental metrics like UV levels, air pressure, and humidity. It allows ordinary users to contribute to a global weather network, creating a decentralized database that offers higher resolution and frequency than conventional systems.

Accuracy is maintained through a patented quality control algorithm known as "Proof of Observation." This system cross-references user-submitted data against nearby nodes and historical environmental patterns. Only data that successfully passes this verification process is rewarded with OBSR tokens. This ensures that the decentralized network remains reliable and that data buyers receive high-quality, actionable environmental information.

There are three primary ways to earn rewards. First, users can use the Observer App to submit "sky photos" or label existing images. Second, users can utilize their smartphone’s built-in sensors, specifically the barometer, to record and upload atmospheric pressure data. Third, for higher-tier rewards, users can set up a "W.Station," a specialized IoT mini-weather station. Rewards are typically distributed after a quality check, with bonuses potentially triggered when data is sold to commercial buyers.

The W.Station is the project’s flagship IoT hardware device. It is a 15cm mini-weather station designed to collect professional-grade environmental metrics automatically. It serves as a more robust data source compared to mobile sensors, allowing for more consistent and comprehensive data collection. Because it provides high-tier data, W.Station owners are eligible for greater rewards within the ecosystem, playing a critical role in building the network's physical infrastructure.

Yes, Observer utilizes a custom Proof of Stake (PoS) protocol that supports both staking and Masternodes. To run a Masternode, users must hold a specific collateral amount, such as 1,000,000 OBSR, though this is subject to governance updates. Smaller holders can stake their tokens in compatible wallets to help secure the network. The block rewards are generally split, with 90% allocated to Masternodes and stakers, while the remaining 10% goes to the project treasury.

OBSR tokens can be traded on LBank and other major global digital asset exchanges. The weather data collected by the network is targeted at commercial and institutional buyers. Partners and potential users include retail chains for logistics planning, national meteorological institutes for research, and smart city developers. These entities use the hyperlocal data to improve operational efficiency and environmental monitoring in regions where traditional weather stations are scarce.
