Moonbirds are a collection of 10,000 unique profile picture (PFP) NFTs built on the ERC-721 standard on the Ethereum blockchain. Launched in April 2022 by PROOF co-founders Kevin Rose and Justin Mezzell, each NFT features a distinctive pixelated owl. Moonbirds Oddities are a companion collection initially airdropped to nested Moonbirds holders, revealed as skeletal rodent-like art after first appearing as "owl pellets." Moonbirds Mythics are another PFP NFT series inspired by Moonbirds art, featuring rich lore. Oddities holders can "burn" their NFTs to receive a Mythic, while Moonbirds holders can acquire Mythics by engaging in nesting. Both collections expand the Moonbirds universe with additional art and utility.
