Specifically, MARA xStock is designed to track the price of MARA Holdings, Inc., which is a significant Bitcoin mining company. The xStocks are backed one-to-one by their underlying assets, meaning each MARA xStock token represents an equivalent value in the traditional stock it tracks. This structure is intended to provide users with a legal claim to the value of the underlying stock. The project emphasizes its compliance with EU regulations and aims to be accessible to non-US users, addressing limitations often found in traditional investing. By tokenizing stocks, MARA xStock intends to make investing more straightforward and accessible, removing barriers such as geographical borders and complexities associated with traditional brokers. MARA xStock tokens are issued as tracker certificates on selected blockchains, including Ethereum (as ERC-20 tokens) and Solana (as SPL tokens).
