Staking the token allowed users to participate in governance, such as voting for their favorite manga titles on a community leaderboard. Additionally, the project designed a reward system to incentivize various participants in the manga community, including artists and groups involved in translating and sharing content online. The project was led by founders with backgrounds in software and gaming, specifically Elvin Li and Young Shin. It also sought to establish partnerships with various media and technology companies to expand its reach. The designation of the token as OLD indicates that the project has undergone a significant transition. Specifically, Manga Token rebranded to Hono Protocol and migrated to a new contract. This migration involved a token swap where holders of the original token were required to move their holdings to the updated version of the protocol.
