In February 2025, Litentry officially rebranded to Heima (HEI). As part of this evolution, LIT tokens migrated to HEI at a 1:1 ratio. Major exchanges, including LBank, automatically handled the conversion for users between February 10 and 13, 2025. If you held LIT on LBank, your balance should already reflect the new HEI tokens. For those using self-custody wallets, a manual swap is required through the Official Migration Portal. During this process, old LIT tokens are burned, and new HEI tokens are minted on the corresponding network, such as Ethereum or BNB Chain.

The transition from Litentry to Heima marks a strategic shift from a decentralized identity aggregator to a chain abstraction protocol. The team identified that focusing solely on identity was too restrictive for broad adoption. Heima aims to make the multi-chain experience invisible to the end-user. By providing a unified experience, users can manage assets and interactions across different blockchains, such as Ethereum and Polkadot, through a single account without manually handling various gas tokens. This evolution leverages the project's signature Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) technology to maintain privacy while simplifying cross-chain complexity.

The HEI token utility has expanded to support the new chain abstraction vision. Key functions include Gas Abstraction, where HEI facilitates intent-based transactions, allowing the network to handle background gas fees on behalf of the user. It also serves as a Governance tool, enabling holders to vote on protocol upgrades and treasury allocations. Additionally, HEI acts as a mediation asset in cross-chain liquidity pools to lower transfer costs. Users can also stake HEI to help secure the network and earn rewards, a process typically managed through the IdentityHub interface.

The rebranding introduced a transparent 20-month unlock plan to support the project's expanded scope. The maximum supply is set at 100 million tokens. Over the 20-month period following the February 2025 migration, the circulating supply is scheduled to increase from approximately 66.45 million to reach the 100 million cap. These newly released tokens are strategically allocated to the Ecosystem Wallet, the Foundation, and Liquidity pools. This distribution is designed to fund the development of new chain-abstraction features and ensure sufficient liquidity for the transition between various blockchain environments.

IdentityHub remains the flagship user-facing product but now integrates more deeply with chain abstraction. It continues to aggregate Web2 social accounts and Web3 addresses into a unified IDGraph. A significant update includes Bitcoin integration, allowing users to connect Bitcoin wallets to generate verifiable credentials based on holdings like Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens. The platform also serves as the center for community events where users can participate in identity verification tasks to earn rewards. This ensures that identity remains a foundational layer for the seamless cross-chain interactions that Heima enables.

Heima utilizes Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) technology to process sensitive data within a secure hardware "black box." Most user data is stored locally on the user's device, while only the relationship between accounts, known as the IDGraph, is processed within the TEE. This ensures that even developers cannot access raw user information. To mitigate potential hardware vulnerabilities, the team provides regular updates to the TEE environment. Furthermore, Heima is actively researching the integration of Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) to provide an additional layer of cryptographic privacy alongside the hardware-based security of the TEE.
