KIRA Network is a decentralized blockchain protocol designed to secure and power the decentralized finance ecosystem through a concept called liquid staking. It operates as a base layer network that allows users to stake a wide variety of digital assets including cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and non-fungible tokens. By staking these assets, users can earn block rewards and transaction fees while simultaneously maintaining liquidity. This is achieved through the issuance of staking derivatives, which are tokens representing the staked value that can still be used in other decentralized applications. The project is built on a novel consensus mechanism known as Multi-Bonded Proof of Stake. Unlike traditional staking models that typically rely on a single native token for security, this mechanism enables the network to be secured by multiple different types of assets at once. This approach aims to improve network security and decentralization by allowing a broader range of participants to contribute their assets. The consensus engine is powered by Tendermint, and the network is designed for interoperability within the broader interchain landscape, including ecosystems like Cosmos and Polkadot. KIRA Network features a hypermodular architecture consisting of several key components. The core blockchain application is called SEKAI, which handles the settlement of application states, asset issuance, and token swaps. Another layer, known as RYOKAI, serves as an orchestration tool to simplify the deployment of network infrastructure. For communication between the backend and frontend, the project uses a middleware layer called INTERX. The user-facing interface and wallet are provided through a tool named MIRO. Additionally, the network includes an Interchain Exchange Protocol, which is an integrated module for peer-to-peer trading and asset exchange. Another notable feature is the Initial Validator Offering, a crowdfunding method that allows users to support new projects by delegating their assets to validators rather than spending them directly. This allows participants to earn rewards from multiple projects simultaneously without losing ownership of their original capital. The native token of the network is KEX. This token serves several roles, including being a requirement for participating in the system's governance and decision-making processes. KEX is also used to reward validators and delegators who help maintain the network's integrity. Holders can use it to pay for transaction fees and as a base asset within the ecosystem.
