IMPERMAX (IBEX) FAQ
What is the difference between IMX and IBEX?
IBEX is the current governance token of Impermax, which replaced the original IMX token in September 2022. This transition occurred following a security incident where the team’s private keys were compromised. To restore the ecosystem, IBEX was airdropped to original IMX holders, establishing it as the primary token for governance and protocol utility.
How can users earn rewards with the IBEX token?
Holders can stake IBEX to receive xIBEX, a yield-bearing token representing their share of the staking pool. The protocol collects up to 20% of all interest paid by borrowers as profit. These funds are used to buy back IBEX from the market and distribute it to stakers. Rewards are auto-compounded, increasing the value of xIBEX relative to IBEX over time.
What is meant by "Indirect Liquidity Providing"?
Indirect Liquidity Providing allows users to lend a single asset, such as USDC or ETH, to other yield farmers. Lenders earn a portion of the farming yields generated by the borrower without being exposed to Impermanent Loss (IL). In this model, the borrower takes on all the IL risk, while the lender receives interest for providing the underlying capital.
Has the Impermax protocol been audited for security?
Yes, Impermax has undergone multiple security audits by several professional firms, including CertiK, Cyber Unit, BailSec, and Guardian Audit. To further enhance security, the project maintains a $100,000 Bug Bounty program hosted by HackenProof, which incentivizes white-hat hackers to identify and report potential vulnerabilities in the protocol's smart contracts.
Which blockchain networks and wallets are supported by Impermax?
Impermax is a highly multi-chain protocol, operating on Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Sonic, and zkSync, among others. It supports a wide range of EVM-compatible wallets, including the LBank Wallet and other popular decentralized options, allowing users to manage their assets across various ecosystems efficiently.
How can users manage or avoid liquidation risk?
Liquidation occurs for borrowers if their collateral value falls below a required threshold. To mitigate this risk, users can employ strategies such as using lower leverage levels (e.g., 2x-3x) or focusing on stablecoin pairs which have lower price volatility. Lenders are generally protected from liquidation, as the protocol's smart contracts are designed to close risky positions before the lender's principal is threatened.
