ICOSA (ICSA) FAQ
What is Icosa (ICSA) and what is its purpose?
Icosa (ICSA) is a protocol expanding upon Hedron, aiming to introduce HDRN staking and provide additional incentives for staking HEX, while enhancing Hedron's borrowing system. Developed by the same team for seamless integration, its core purpose is to allow HDRN holders to generate yield. It integrates free-market HEX in the form of HSI HEX stakes, distributing these to the community to benefit both HDRN and HEX holders.
How does Icosa (ICSA) relate to Hedron (HDRN) and HEX?
Icosa is designed to work closely with Hedron and HEX, offering mechanisms to stake HDRN for ICSA yield and providing incentives for HEX holders. It aims to decrease sell pressure for both tokens and increase staking incentives. ICSA also promotes HDRN burning, contributing to a scarcer token supply. Essentially, Icosa enhances the value and utility of both HDRN and HEX within the decentralized finance ecosystem.
How are ICSA tokens minted or generated?
ICSA tokens are generated in two primary ways. First, by selling a Hex Stake Instance (HSI) to the Icosa contract in an HSI buyback. The contract pays in ICSA, then borrows against the HSI, mints its available Hedron, and defaults, sending it to auction. Second, by staking either HDRN, which generates ICSA yield based on daily HDRN burnt, or by staking ICSA itself, which can yield both HDRN and more ICSA.
What is the HSI Buy-Back mechanism?
The HSI Buy-Back mechanism enables users to sell their Hex Stake Instances (HSIs) directly to the Icosa contract, receiving ICSA in return. Following this, the Icosa contract utilizes these HSIs to borrow against, minting all available Hedron for their entire lifetime. Subsequently, the contract defaults on the loan, resulting in these defaulted stakes being sent back to auction, where others might acquire Hex stakes at potentially lower rates.
What are the staking options available with Icosa?
Icosa offers several staking options. Users can stake HDRN to earn ICSA yield. Alternatively, staking ICSA itself allows participants to earn both HDRN and additional ICSA. A unique, time-limited option is the "We Are All The SA" Staking Pool, which generates ICSA yield and provides an NFT. This NFT functions like a Hedron stake earning ICSA, and burning it to claim rewards redistributes its yield to other active NFTs in the pool.
Are there minimum or maximum stake lengths for Icosa?
Unlike HEX, Icosa stakes generally do not impose a maximum limit on staking duration. However, there are mandatory minimum stake lengths that must be completed before a stake can be ended without incurring penalties. These minimums are dynamic, varying from 30 to 360 days, based on the percentage of the total ICSA supply that your principal represents. Furthermore, adding capital to an existing stake can cause the minimum stake length to reset.
