HODL is a decentralized finance (DeFi) project that operates on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). Its main objective is to provide passive income and rewards to individuals who hold its native token, also named HODL. The project's name itself is derived from the popular cryptocurrency slang "HODL," which encourages a long-term holding strategy for digital assets, reflecting a commitment to the project's future. The reward system within the HODL ecosystem functions by distributing Binance Coin (BNB) to its token holders. This is primarily funded by a transaction tax, typically around 5%, that is applied to every buy, sell, and transfer of the HODL token. These taxed tokens are then automatically converted into BNB and channeled into a designated reward pool for distribution. Token holders can claim their accumulated BNB rewards at regular intervals, often on a weekly basis. The project also offers options for holders to reinvest their earned rewards back into the ecosystem, which may come with incentives such as reduced fees or accelerated access to subsequent reward claims. To further support and expand its reward pool, the HODL project incorporates additional revenue streams. These include proceeds from NFT sales and contributions from play-to-earn gaming activities. A dynamic reward bot is employed to manage and optimize the reward pool, intelligently handling token conversions to BNB while aiming to maintain the overall stability of the ecosystem. Since its initial launch in May 2021, the HODL project has undergone several evolutions, focusing on enhancing its smart contract to refine reward generation and user experience.
