IslandDAO is a Solana-based Network State and a Service DAO, originating as a subDAO from Grape Protocol. Its core mission is to connect Web3 expertise with Solana protocols, fostering a vibrant community. The project aims to achieve this by organizing global co-working events, building connections, and ultimately purchasing an island to establish a year-round Solana hackerhouse. This initiative provides a tangible hub for innovation and collaboration within the Solana ecosystem, addressing the need for centralized spaces in a decentralized world.

The $ISLAND token grants participation in IslandDAO's governance, allowing holders to vote on platform decisions with voting power scaled by their staked amount. Staking $ISLAND can also enhance earning potential and access to island creation resources. IslandDAO PERKS NFTs serve as access passes to digital perks and real-world events, offering governance multipliers, whitelist eligibility for future initiatives, and increased influence. Specific animal-themed NFTs provide unique benefits like voting power boosts, event plus-ones, complimentary coffee, access to Q&A sessions, and service discounts.

IslandDAO is governed by its community through on-chain voting, powered by platforms like Realms.
