Crypto Raiders is a utility-based role-playing game (RPG) and dungeon crawler built on the Polygon blockchain. Drawing inspiration from classic titles like World of Warcraft and Zed Run, the project integrates non-fungible tokens (NFTs) into a persistent gaming environment where players manage characters to explore dungeons, defeat enemies, and collect loot. The project features a dual-token economy centered around the RAIDER and AURUM tokens. The RAIDER token serves as the primary governance and value-accrual token for the entire ecosystem. Its main utility lies in staking, where holders can lock their tokens for varying periods ranging from three to twelve months. By staking RAIDER, participants earn a share of the AURUM spent within the game’s economy. This staking mechanism also grants users voting rights on governance decisions and provides exclusive access to certain in-game content, such as special dungeons, unique gear, and partner releases. AURUM is the secondary utility token used for nearly all interactive activities within the game world. Players spend AURUM to enter dungeons beyond their weekly free limit, recruit new characters (a process similar to breeding), craft items, and participate in player-versus-player tournaments. At the heart of the gameplay are the Raider NFTs, which are the player-controlled characters. These characters possess different attributes like strength, agility, and intelligence that determine their effectiveness in combat. A defining feature of the project is the permanent death mechanic, where certain high-risk dungeons can result in the permanent loss of a Raider NFT if the player is defeated. This adds a layer of strategy and risk management to the experience. Beyond characters, the ecosystem includes other NFT assets such as Mounts, which can increase movement speed or providing bonuses, and MOBs. The MOB system is a unique feature that allows players to own the antagonists found in dungeons. When a player-owned MOB defeats a raiding character, the owner of that MOB receives rewards in the form of game tokens and loot. The project is designed to be accessible through web browsers and mobile devices, focusing on a community-driven development model. It emphasizes a play-to-earn structure where active participation in dungeon raids, questing, and crafting allows players to build up their character's power and contribute to the broader game economy. Through its integration of decentralized finance elements like staking with traditional RPG mechanics, Crypto Raiders aims to create a fully composable gaming world where in-game actions have meaningful results within its digital ecosystem.
