The Blackhole (BLACK) project primarily refers to a decentralized exchange (DEX) built on the Avalanche C-Chain. This platform is designed to function as a unified liquidity hub for various blockchain projects within the Avalanche ecosystem and is part of the Superverse ecosystem. The project aims to resolve the fragmentation issues prevalent in the industry, which arise from numerous rollups and Layer 2 solutions. The native token of this project is BLACK. The BLACK token serves a dual role within its ecosystem. Firstly, it acts as a governance token, empowering holders to participate in decision-making processes and influence the platform's future. Secondly, BLACK is used as an incentive token for high-value projects that integrate with the Blackhole protocol and contribute liquidity, as well as for community users who provide liquidity to the pools. BLACK token holders can exercise voting rights to determine how incentives are allocated. Blackhole incorporates an enhanced ve(3,3) tokenomics model. This model features two distinct types of vote-escrowed NFTs (veNFTs): Singularity veNFTs and Supermassive veNFTs. Singularity veNFTs are created by locking BLACK tokens for periods up to four years, which grants voting power. Supermassive veNFTs are minted by permanently burning BLACK tokens, providing non-decaying voting power, enhanced rewards, and a rebase bonus. A key aspect is that all team tokens are burned into Supermassive veNFTs to remove potential future selling pressure. The protocol utilizes "Genesis Pools," an innovative mechanism for creating pre-token generation event liquidity. Through these pools, projects and community members can collaboratively fund liquidity pools. Blackhole also supports various Automated Market Maker (AMM) designs, including standard, stable, and concentrated liquidity pools, to offer diverse options for liquidity provision. The project's overall objective is to ensure deep liquidity, sustainable token emissions, and aligned incentives across the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. It is important to note that another project, known as BlackHole Protocol, also uses a BLACK token. This project describes itself as a decentralized cryptocurrency and cross-chain burning platform that originated on the Ethereum network and has expanded to other blockchains such as Polkadot, BSC, Heco, and SOL. Its focus is on creating a deflationary environment through an approval-free burning protocol, allowing users to burn old tokens to create new ones.
