Bitgert is a crypto engineering project launched in July 2021, initially operating on an alternative smart chain, before introducing its own proprietary BRC20 blockchain in 2022. The BRC20 blockchain aims for high transaction speeds of up to 100,000 transactions per second (TPS) and near-zero gas fees. It uses a Proof-of-Authority (PoA) consensus mechanism for quick block times and low fees. The BRC20 chain is also EVM compatible, enabling developers to migrate projects from other major smart contract platforms easily.

The Bitgert ecosystem includes several products. Paybrise is a payment gateway for merchants to accept BRISE with no fees. BRISE Swap is a decentralized exchange (DEX) for token swaps across BRC20 and other major blockchain networks. Staking allows users to earn rewards, often in stablecoins, by holding BRISE tokens. The project also offers AI-driven Audit Solutions for smart contract security and a BRISE dApp Wallet for managing various cryptocurrencies.

Bitgert faces significant controversies, including the anonymity of its founders and the removal of team information from its website. Concerns arise from its self-conducted platform audits, raising questions about objectivity. Skepticism exists around unverified claims of near-zero fees and 100,000 TPS, and the assertion of having solved the blockchain trilemma without concrete proof. Ambiguous charitable efforts and unclear actual blockchain usage, with some services reportedly relying on other networks, further fuel doubts. The whitepaper has also been noted for grammatical errors and deliberate ambiguity.

The investment viability of BRISE carries mixed opinions and significant caution. The token has a very large maximum supply, making substantial price increases challenging due to the sheer number of tokens. The project has been noted for attracting investors with low token prices and bold claims, and some analysts suggest potential for volatile cycles. BRISE has a fixed maximum supply of 1 quadrillion tokens, with 50% burned at launch to reduce initial circulation. It implements a deflationary model through buybacks and burns. Transaction fees on the Bitgert network are distributed as follows: 5% is allocated for token buyback, 3% supports marketing initiatives, and 4% is designated for staking rewards. For its smart contract on certain major blockchain networks, there is a zero tax fee.

The BRISE Chain ensures its security through a Proof-of-Authority (PoA) consensus mechanism. In this system, designated validator candidates are responsible for producing blocks. To maintain network integrity, mechanisms such as double-sign detection and slashing logic are implemented. These features are designed to ensure the security, stability, and finality of the chain's transactions. Additionally, the platform offers free auditing services to enhance the security of smart contracts and other blockchain projects deployed on its network.
