AGHST is the Aave interest-bearing token for GHST. When users supply GHST to Aave V3, they receive aghst in return. These aTokens accrue interest from borrowing activity within the pool. Users can supply GHST to earn interest and utilize it as collateral, or borrow other assets by providing GHST as collateral.

A primary concern is the potential for GHST to introduce risk within the Aave V3 deployment, particularly regarding bad debt and value manipulation. Its specific market characteristics can lead to difficulties in liquidating positions. If the value of GHST increases significantly, the protocol might struggle to liquidate collateral assets, potentially leading to bad debt. Limited decentralized exchange liquidity is also a concern, as substantial buy orders for GHST could cause significant value increases, worsening liquidation challenges.

Aave V3 features a liquidation mechanism where, if a borrower's health factor falls below 1, their position becomes eligible for liquidation. Liquidators can repay a portion of the debt in exchange for collateral. However, for GHST, a challenge arises if its value increases materially, making it difficult for the protocol to liquidate collateral for GHST. Aave V3 allows for up to 100% of the debt to be liquidated if the health factor is sufficiently low.

Concerns about GHST's risk profile have led to community suggestions for safeguards, including capping both the supply and demand sides of the GHST markets. Supply caps define the maximum amount of an asset that can be supplied, while borrow caps limit how much of each asset can be borrowed. These measures aim to reduce protocol exposure and prevent issues like oracle manipulation, with parameters adjustable by Aave governance.

Aave utilizes decentralized oracles, such as Chainlink, to provide tamper-resistant feeds and reduce the risk of incorrect asset valuations. While these oracles incorporate data from various liquidity sources, generally making manipulation more challenging, the unique market dynamics of GHST (including bonding curves on L1 and arbitrage opportunities with a major exchange's orderbooks) are also factored into managing potential value manipulation risks.

Aave V3 offers features like Isolation Mode and High Efficiency Mode (eMode) to manage risk and capital efficiency. Isolation Mode enables secure listing of new or more volatile assets by limiting borrowing to specific assets up to a debt ceiling. eMode, conversely, enhances borrowing power for price-correlated assets.
