The merge window for VSN opened on July 9, 2025. Trading for the legacy tokens, BEST and PAN, ceased on July 16, 2025, which is also when VSN trading commenced. The fixed conversion rates for the merger are established as 1 BEST equivalent to 4.91 VSN, and 1 PAN equivalent to 0.89 VSN. This process ensures a standardized and transparent transition for all token holders, allowing them to exchange their previous tokens for the new unified VSN token at predefined ratios.
VSN is implemented as an ERC-20 token, deployed on the Ethereum mainnet, leveraging the robust and widely adopted Ethereum blockchain infrastructure. Its design incorporates cross-chain functionality, facilitated by the underlying Vision Protocol. Looking ahead, VSN will be further supported by the upcoming Vision Chain, which is planned as an Ethereum Layer 2 solution. This Layer 2 infrastructure is specifically being developed to enable compliant Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization, expanding VSN's capabilities and integration into regulated financial contexts.
The initial total supply of VSN is set at 4.2 billion tokens. The tokenomics model incorporates a burning mechanism designed to manage supply. Under this mechanism, a portion of VSN tokens is periodically repurchased and subsequently destroyed. The funds for these buybacks and burns are derived from fees collected across the ecosystem's Web3 product suite. To initiate this process, the Vision Web3 Foundation subsidized an initial burn of 40 million tokens, demonstrating an early commitment to this supply management strategy.
