What is Beets (BEETS)?

Beets, formerly known as Beethoven X, is a decentralized finance protocol and investment platform that functions as a liquidity hub and automated market maker. Originally launched on the Fantom network, the project has evolved to become a flagship component of the Sonic and Optimism ecosystems. It is built using advanced technology from the Balancer protocol, which allows for highly customizable liquidity pools beyond the standard two-token model. The primary goal of Beets is to provide a user-friendly and capital-efficient environment for decentralized trading and asset management. Its technology stack includes a decentralized exchange and a liquid staking hub. This setup allows users to participate in the security of the underlying blockchain while maintaining the liquidity of their staked assets. One of its standout features is the use of weighted and boosted pools, which function similarly to self-balancing index funds. In these pools, the system automatically adjusts asset ratios through arbitrage, allowing participants to provide liquidity across multiple tokens simultaneously. The BEETS token is the central utility and governance asset of the ecosystem. It is used to incentivize liquidity providers and grants holders the ability to influence the direction of the protocol. A core component of the project is the maBEETS system, which stands for maturity-adjusted voting power. This mechanism rewards long-term participation by increasing a user's governance influence based on how long they have remained active in the protocol, rather than relying solely on the quantity of tokens held. Governance participants can vote on which liquidity pools receive emissions and can earn a share of the protocol revenue generated from trading fees and flash loans. The project emphasizes a community-driven model, governed by a decentralized autonomous organization that manages the treasury and development budgets. By integrating the latest versions of the Balancer protocol, Beets aims to simplify the decentralized finance experience for both individual users and developers looking to build specialized financial tools on top of its infrastructure. This transition to the Sonic network marks its latest expansion into high-performance blockchain environments, focusing on fast transactions and innovative liquid staking solutions. Learn more

Beets (BEETS) FAQ

Beethoven X has rebranded to Beets as part of its migration to the Sonic network, formerly known as Fantom. While it remains an Automated Market Maker based on Balancer technology, it has shifted its strategic focus toward becoming a central hub for Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) within the Sonic ecosystem.
Beets is a fork of the Balancer V2 protocol and has undergone security audits by firms like Trail of Bits. The code is open-source, and the project has a established history on the Fantom network without major exploits, demonstrating a commitment to platform safety.
To migrate, users must bridge their legacy tokens from the Fantom network to the Sonic network. This process generally requires users to break old staking positions, bridge the assets, and then re-stake them on the new Sonic-based platform to align with the updated protocol infrastructure.
Unlike traditional single-sided staking, Beets uses an 80/20 weighted pool consisting of 80% BEETS and 20% stS. This model is designed to ensure the governance token maintains deep liquidity within the protocol while still allowing users to earn rewards and participate in the ecosystem's growth.
maBEETS uses a "Reliquary" system where rewards and voting power increase the longer you hold your position, rather than using fixed-time locks. While users can exit at any time, doing so resets their maturity level. Users must manually update their position in the interface as it matures to unlock higher reward tiers.
stS is the Liquid Staking Token for the Sonic network. It earns yield by automatically increasing in its exchange ratio relative to the native Sonic (S) token. These rewards are compounded directly into the token's value, providing users with staking returns without requiring them to lock their native assets.
