It is used for staking to earn rewards and serves as the foundational layer for transferring stablecoins like USDT. The project was founded by Justin Sun in 2017. TRON utilizes a unique resource model to manage transaction costs. Bandwidth is required for standard transactions, such as sending TRX or tokens, while Energy is necessary for smart contract interactions, including USDT transfers. However, if the account lacks enough Bandwidth or Energy, a small amount of TRX is automatically burned to cover the transaction costs.

It allows users to pay their USDT transfer fees directly in USDT instead of requiring them to hold TRX for gas or resources.
