kHYPE is a liquid staking token (LST) designed for HYPE, the native token of the Hyperliquid blockchain. It offers users a flexible way to earn staking rewards on their HYPE holdings. kHYPE rewards accrue by increasing its value relative to HYPE. As staking rewards are generated by the underlying HYPE, the redemption value of each kHYPE token steadily grows. This means that while the number of kHYPE tokens in a user's wallet stays the same, each token becomes redeemable for a larger amount of HYPE over time. This design is distinct from rebasing tokens, which typically increase the actual quantity of tokens in a user's balance to reflect earned rewards. With kHYPE, the appreciation is embedded in its exchange rate.
